Also, I wanted to add, I think we both identify strongly with our surrounding culture and feel a part of it, or a strong desire to be a part, and being told it is not our first language makes us feel like we are not being allowed to define ourselves in the way we identify. I was relieved to see that at least this was a complicated issue/word and part of our uniqueness😊
