The Friday Five and A for Effort
Jul. 16th, 2022 04:03 pm1. How tall would you like to be if you had the chance to choose?
I am 170cm or around 5'7, which is probably average in Canada or the States, but too tall here in Japan. I hated going shopping for clothes. Now that I've lost weight, it is easier, but still it would be nice to be 10cm shorter and my feet to be smaller than 24cm. There are not many choices for shoes above 24.5cm here either.
2. How often do you change your sheets?
Every two weeks or so? We do always take a bath before going to bed though to keep the sheets clean(er).
3. When is it time to repurpose an old towel?
When it rips in the middle so it's easy to rip into two :D
4. Do you need to make a trip to a secondhand store to drop something off?
Not at the moment. We buy a lot of secondhand stuff, so by the time we are done with them, they are probably better thrown out than resold.
5. What was the last book you borrowed from the library?
I haven't gone to the library since my kids were small. Even if I did, they wouldn't have much of an English selection. I now get a lot of digital books free so I don't have to buy too many paper books. I still buy those that I want to keep though.
============
This week was stressful and I am just full of dark thoughts today.
On a nice note, hubby is going to COSTCO to get some chicken and pizza. This is very cost effective dinner so he is agreeable. I feel tired, probably more because of the mental/psychological strain than body, and it would be nice to have already made dinner to just enjoy without the extra work. I also asked Julian to take Hana for her walk today.
Other good news. Alex passed his second interview with the travel company. He has to have another, which will delay results again, but still exciting!
Let's see if I can find something to cheer us up.
