Love the his/her exercises! In my past classes, I used to collect the pencil cases, pencils, or whatever the students have on them and bring them to the front. I'd hold up an item asking, "Whose [item] is this?" I would have the student respond, "It's mine!" Then I would turn to ask the class who it belongs to, and have them answer "It's his/hers/Name's." I found this exercise worked out great, and they enjoyed it when I upped the challenge by hiding their stuff. It made a great segway for "Where is [student's item]?"
