Haha... well, my parents are Iranian. Dad and I moved to Australia when I was quite young. School and workplaces have been majority 'white', which I am not. I do not consider Australia to be racist, but a lot of people have their own theories about Arabs (which I happen to be).
I love Christmas and Easter- for the festivities etc- but my family is not from Christian faith (they are shi'i Muslims)- so we did not have Christmas trees when every other family I knew had them; and we used to celebrate Eid when schools were open. I am not religious, and these do not seem important anymore, and it does get easier as we grow older; but it is still a little hard to give words to.
