I understand how you would want people to be straight and direct - it is so much easier than guessing or trying to figure it out from their reaction. But, being told "I don't like this" or "I hate this" hurts one's feelings too. Hubby is quite direct about whether he likes my cooking and it is very disheartening because he will complain the whole meal until I get up and make/get something to replace whatever it is. I much rather prefer the kids method of not eating as much as they would if they had really loved the food. The fact that they complement me on the food anyway shows me they care about my efforts and my feelings. I feel just as bad but also love them for the effort.

There are various types of steak meat. The kind I bought on Saturday was cut into thinner and smaller pieces for use as Korean barbecue. I also often buy really thick steak and cut them into blocks that we can all share. Beef is quite expensive here and sometimes on a Saturday night, five perfectly cut steaks are hard to come by.

I haven't watched the ep about the dogs yet! He just got a goldfish.
